Haugh Lane Case Study
.
Background of the case
The project involved the demolition of an existing property and the construction of two new dwellings. This involved excavation nearby to neighbouring properties and boundary walls.

Our Team served the relevant notices to the neighbours and developed the Party Wall Award. We thoroughly reviewed the Architect and Engineer design proposals, ensuring adequate safeguarding of the neighbouring properties was in place, and setting restrictions during construction to limit the disruption to the neighbouring residents.

We carried out a detailed schedule of condition to accurately document the condition of the neighbour’s property prior to the works commencing.

Appointing a Chartered Building Surveyor experienced in Party Wall matters provides:
– Expert understanding of construction risk
– Correct service of notices and Awards
– Robust Schedules of Condition
– Clear, enforceable documentation
– Professional indemnity and regulated standards
Independent professional input helps ensure the process runs smoothly from start to finish.
If you are planning works that may fall under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 or are unsure, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
